Along with a few other songs on this album, I think this song is about Kiedis' two-year relationship with Australian model Helena Vestergaard. The end of it "say goodbye my love", the way he felt when they were together, how young she was (she was only 19 or 20 when they first got together I think) "Somehow you made your way to my decade".
@60_miles_an_hour I think it's probably mostly about her, but I think the fact that it's plural "angels", and there's mention of some other very specific things makes it more about lots of girls he's known than have disappeared from Anthony's life in one way or another. This song can make me extremely sad. I love it!
