I think it's about knowing a person is your soul mate or twin flame but they don't realize it, yet. You wish they would be more receptive to that emptiness, you too, feel, and in the song the girl has determination. She is willing to be burnt and the devil may not want them to fill that emptiness, but she knows it has to happen and her persistence will surprise him, the devil.
