My idea of this song is that it's about someone that doesn't love himself but finds love in someone else and how he would be a slave to that love even tho his self hatred is slowly rotting him away. That unlovingness towards himself will never let him be free and the love he keeps ends up
Leaving him because he can't love himself. he never wants to fall in love again because no one sees how big of a heart he has even when he shows it so much.
