I've known this song for a few years now but it only recently started to relate to me so I'm going to throw in my two cents. The song to me is about trying to give something an effort to enjoy but you deep down don't feel it, and it sucks because at one time you had that passion for something. I think the song is about everything in general, too. The thing he's waiting for is that something or someone to come along and rejuvinate him and get that positive/loving emotion back into his life. I'm at a point in my life where I can relate so hard to that. I'm currently not into anyone or anything and not having that lust for something can make things so bland and it doesn't work when you force yourself to love something, and it makes you feel "lifeless" when you're indifferent towards so many things like a girl you used to love or something like that. I don't know. This song just came up on my shuffle the other day and I was like holy shit this song makes sense to me a lot right now. Sorry for rambling and the last comment for this song was like10 years ago so LOL but if anyone reads this I hope I'm not the only one that can relate!

The Rentals 'Friend of P' was in heavy rotation for the last 2 years (I'm 29, so those/these bands trigger some nostalgia in me) so after hearing FOP so much, I decided to revisit ROTR and it was around the time I also felt 'lifeless' as a musician right now. Anyways re-listening to this album, (haven't listened to it in a long time, I usually revisit '7 More Minutes') has came around the time I met a gal, who knows...

The Rentals 'Friend of P' was in heavy rotation for the last 2 years (I'm 29, so those/these bands trigger some nostalgia in me) so after hearing FOP so much, I decided to revisit ROTR and it was around the time I also felt 'lifeless' as a musician right now. Anyways re-listening to this album, (haven't listened to it in a long time, I usually revisit '7 More Minutes') has came around the time I met a gal, who knows where this will go. But...I've also started re-listening to 'Pinkerton', so I'm out of my element in my feelings.
