Sulk Lyrics

This song seems to involve a party setting, with the narrator inviting someone to come sit near him and stop flitting about, without asking questions. "Fold your heels and skip the whys." (Possibly whites, (dressy clothes) referring to someone asking him to go out.)

He is sulking, while those around him want to get to know him, and try to talk to him, but all he wants to do is be alone, and he achieves this "safe with my sulk."

"Fill up without weight of warmth" he has no need for contact in order to be content. In the second verse, it appears he is socializing and dancing with people, and tries to enjoy himself although he knows this burst of extraversion will not last long. He doesn't mind it when someone shows him affection, "when you say love" and begins to come out of his shell.

Chorus-he starts reverting back to his old ways.

"It's not too warm to let it blow" he is beginning to explore the warmth of new relationships with others, but he can't let go completely of wanting to be alone.
