| The Black Keys – Turn Blue Lyrics | 10 years ago |

I think urbane is right on some counts, and to continue with this: "I gotta stay on track just like pops told me to do" The singer is trying to focus on the other aspects of his life and involves his father in order to make themselves feel better about staying in the relationship. They have more important things to worry about than their relationship. "I really don't think you know There could be hell below, below I really do hope you know There could be hell below, below" seems to point towards someone trying to tell him the relationship is turning sour and other people can see it. Continuing on this way could lead to hell for the singer as the relationship enters a downward spiral of negative emotion. |

This song seems to concern a relationship falling apart, with one person trying to hang on and the other (the singer) trying to remember and bring back their attraction but failing, accepting it, and not wanting to waste more of their time and their life on something that will never be. The singer brushes off the other person's attempts, trying to make them see it is in their best interest ("You can't be off two meds at times" they won't be able to take the stress of trying to save the relationship on top of everything else.) |

| TR/ST – Sulk Lyrics | 11 years ago |

This song seems to involve a party setting, with the narrator inviting someone to come sit near him and stop flitting about, without asking questions. "Fold your heels and skip the whys." (Possibly whites, (dressy clothes) referring to someone asking him to go out.) He is sulking, while those around him want to get to know him, and try to talk to him, but all he wants to do is be alone, and he achieves this "safe with my sulk." "Fill up without weight of warmth" he has no need for contact in order to be content. In the second verse, it appears he is socializing and dancing with people, and tries to enjoy himself although he knows this burst of extraversion will not last long. He doesn't mind it when someone shows him affection, "when you say love" and begins to come out of his shell. Chorus-he starts reverting back to his old ways. "It's not too warm to let it blow" he is beginning to explore the warmth of new relationships with others, but he can't let go completely of wanting to be alone. |
