Whenever dark has fallen --- (When one is in darkness and under the influence of the demonic)

You know the spirit of the party starts to come alive --- (The wicked spirit that leads to lust, revelry, drunkenness, adultery, fornication, etc. begins to manifest with vigour)

Until the day is dawning --- (until the light comes into one's life-if God so wills, a person will remain in this amused, distracted, and enslaved state -- the world continues as such until the Dayspring dawns -- returning at the Father's appointed time to punish the ungodly and to bring the elect into the fold)

You can throw out all the blues and hit the city lights --- (do not find joy in God (is the message), find it in the "spirit" of the "party" that comes alive when darkness falls on the masses)

'Cause there's music in the air --- (indeed there is, and Satan is the prince of the power of the air) And lots of lovin' everywhere --- (free sex... adultery, fornication, shacking-up, perversion, abuse, desertion, abandonment, cheating, whatever you want... there's lots of lovin everywhere) So give me the night - Give me the night --- (John 3:19 "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." -- and we know that it is God alone who draws a man to Christ, enabling Him to come to Him per Psalm 65:4).

You need the evening action -- A place to dine, a glass of wine, a little late romance --- (Youdo not need God (satan says) you just need that evening "action" filled with gluttony, lasciviousness, and all manner of evil)

It's a chain reaction --- (indeed it is -- Satan is actually being honest here...)

We'll see the people of the world coming out to dance (indeed they are coming out to "dance" in the darkness, in the "spirit" of the party --- the world indeed wants to dance with the devil by nature)

So come on out tonight - And we'll lead the others on a ride through paradise --- (Satan wants to lead you into this false paradise and wants you to then help lead others -- this false paradise leads straight to hell.)

And if you feel all right - Then we can be lovers 'cause I see that starlight look in your eyes (illuminated / starry eyes is a popular occult symbol/theme and signifies possession/rule/control as if one was led by the stars that are in their eyes... If you are so led, you will "feel alright" for a season, even an extended one perhaps, but hell is to come. Satan wants to be yoked with you; he wants to be your (spiritual) lover taking away the love and fidelity one should have to the Sovereign, Triune God)

Well don't you know we can fly? (flying is another popular occult theme/symbol; it points to both sexual release and, more importantly, the perceived freedom, liberation, and exhilaration that comes for a season when one is given over to the 'spirit of the party' that 'comes alive' in darkness -- hell serves to permanently fix that delusion... a very fearful thought indeed).

And if we stay together --- (stick with the Satanic world and all of the allure and deceptive enticements... and the devil promises that...) We'll feel the rhythm of the evening taking us up high --- (the devil took Christ on a high place to tempt Him -- as the God Man mediator, Jehovah God, He resisted the devil being wholly without sin, but Satan wants to take you high --- filling your mind with lofty thoughts of pleasure and rebellion -- and he knows that he can take the natural man captive at his will) Never mind the weather --- (yeah,...

@bsinclair This is a terribly dark, overly religious and fatalistic interpretation of George Benson's work. You are definately entitled to your opinion but I just can't see it. By analogy not every guy who watches a girl is a stalker; some are just ordinary love struck souls who don't have the confidence or courage to speak up - whether for fear of striking out or speaking up. A guy looking at a girl he pines away for is not a crime (no matter what the victim police tell you). I don't want to ever believe that...
