I think this song is about a relationship where two person have said and done too much to hurt the other.. and then one of them finally gave up and decided to just let go thinking that they would be better off... but then when he/she finally did he was able to look at their relationship in a new light, realizing that living without the other person is much more miserable... figuring out that he love the other person.. all of her, even the things he hates about her its just that so many hurtful things have come between them and thats whats keeping him from seeing this before, thus the line
