Great song. I often listen neo-cantry with the likes of Eels, Pagoda - they mix up pretty well.
So, this song's about evil spirits inside of you, that makes you a different person, a monster. You are trying so hard to keep it inside of you, but sometimes it doesn't work. Some thing happened and it blows your mind, you can't control yourself and do the shit that will make you regret for the rest of your life... Often such a crazy situations happens when you're in relations with girl, you probably love her, but can't stop doubting and settle down. Then you make huge mistakes...
@MrGrunge I agree with you, White Buffalo deserves more attention...I agree with you about the meaning too I just want to add that maybe he cut the cord with other people and lost sense of reality of others and took time for facing his inner evil demons and he lost the fight... He is letting them rule now over him, but he is aware of his failure and that is causing him so much pain... He let down others, he let down his girl, he let down himself and he let down God... He wants to fix everything, he wants...
