This song is really calming but it is also very mysterious.
On one hand, it sounds like there's a long distance relationship ending over a Skype call. The first two stanzas describe two lovers far away from one another and the boy/man "overhears" her choice( which is to leave him). By the third stanza, they say ," they won't go back" meaning they're done with each other.
That or their relationship is starting and they're afraid to do it and the future is just full of mystery.. Instead of [him] overhearing about [her] leaving the relationship, [he] finds out that [she] is interested in him. "He had overheard her choice/ And he delve off the cliffside", meaning he's so happy he went off the edge. When it get's to the chorus, " They both see the traps.../ They won't go back/... They've got a mind track/...it's all a mystery/...Let it come and let it be" it talks about how they foresee problems with the relationship but they're going through with it anyway.
In summary, it's either two things ( in my opinion of course) : it's either a breakup or the beginning of young love.
