All she's got is the way he looks
Many miles on the other side
He had overheard her choice
And he'd delve off a cliffside
Sacrifice he just wants to help
Knows the world like a baby
Takes his mask off and lulls his head
Then she sees him in the screen

They both see the traps
No fool, oh no oh
They won't go back
No fool, oh no oh
They've got a mind track
No fool, oh no no
It's all a mystery
Let it come and let it be

Oh oh

They both see the traps
No fool, oh no oh
They won't go back
No fool, oh no oh
They've got a mind track
No fool, oh no oh
It's all a mystery
Let it come and let it be

Let it come and let it be
Let it come and let it be
Let it come and let it be
Let it come and let it be

They've got a mind trap
Got a mind trap
Got a mind trap
Got a mind trap
Got a mind trap

They both see the traps
No fool, oh no oh
They won't go back
No fool, oh no oh
They've got a mind track
No fool, oh no oh
It's all a mystery
Let it come and let it be

Let it come and let it be
Let it come and let it be
Let it come and let it be

    Memory

It is about two people that found each other online thousands of miles apart. They fell in love though they never should have. She shared a special connection with this mysterious man that she never felt with anyone ever again. They were talking in a video chat about meeting for the first time even though the people in their lives would be angry. They get into an argument and stop talking both of them hurt although they will never admit it to each other. It's been over four years now.

I am happily married now, but I still think about a guy named Ben. This song...was our story.

    My Interpretation

    Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Blackmill is an artist when it comes to captivating feelings such as love, friendship, life-related questions and generally mystic subjects.

This piece of art must be one of his best accomplishments as an artist and I salute him for releasing this spectacular song.

The song to me is about a pair who are going through a tough time. Living far apart and don't think this relationship was a good idea due to the distance between them.

I can't help but feel this may be a story out of Blackmill's life, since he comes from Scotland which typically is filled with mountains, highlands and whatnot. The song highlights features like "cliffside" and "many miles on the other side" - Does 'other side' mean across the waters in Scandinavia, France or some place else? We can only guess, but to me this song says something about Blackmill's own life and the traps of distance relationships.

    My Interpretation

This song is really calming but it is also very mysterious. On one hand, it sounds like there's a long distance relationship ending over a Skype call. The first two stanzas describe two lovers far away from one another and the boy/man "overhears" her choice( which is to leave him). By the third stanza, they say ," they won't go back" meaning they're done with each other.

That or their relationship is starting and they're afraid to do it and the future is just full of mystery.. Instead of [him] overhearing about [her] leaving the relationship, [he] finds out that [she] is interested in him. "He had overheard her choice/ And he delve off the cliffside", meaning he's so happy he went off the edge. When it get's to the chorus, " They both see the traps.../ They won't go back/... They've got a mind track/...it's all a mystery/...Let it come and let it be" it talks about how they foresee problems with the relationship but they're going through with it anyway.

In summary, it's either two things ( in my opinion of course) : it's either a breakup or the beginning of young love.

    Song Meaning

All she's got is the way he looks sitting many miles on the other side sounds like a long distance relationship ending on video chat and she ended it and as passionate as his feelings were for her he "delve off the cliff side" also "takes his mask off and Luls his head, then she sees him in the screen to me is mysterious yet another hint at suicide over this girl..

This song is beautiful in everyway and yet very mysterious and we may never know the true meaning which makes it even more unique❤

P.s. "let it come and let it be" maybe he doesn't want us knowing the meaning;)

Lyrics like these are very poetic and dont necessarily need to be taken literal. You can create a story with this far more sureal. I am a philisopher so i look at this as a window into the soul. Thats just me though. The mind is full of traps. Traps you put in yourself to prevent you from breaking barriers. Prevent you from finding a way to the other side. You need two sides looking at eachother for that to work but they both see all the traps. Mystery is the fact that there is doubt and the traps are there... he wants to jump off and hold the world like a baby. He is on a fools journey to take care of the world and share love with it like his own child so he went into his mind to seek the inner strength of creation to do that.

    Song Meaning

Two people. A woman and a man. They see each other from across the room and walk towards each other with a quickening pace. Now face to face they must acknowledge each other. She says, "please you first" and he retorts the same. She is politely insistent and he accepts. She observes him quietly from a distance as he places his purchase on the grocery store checkout conveyor. As the clerk scans each item at a painfully slow pace he shuffles and looks down at his feet and deals darting glances at her waiting. With a coy smile she averts her gaze to the security screen above them. He turns his back and she sees his face on the screen as he rolls his eyes. What the hell is that supposed to mean? The clerk states the amount as he swipes his card. A birthing minute ensues. Declined. He swipes again with annoyed purpose. Declined. Thrice, now with an air of indignation. Declined. "For the love of Christ!" echos silently in her mind as she longingly stares at the exit. He persists and claims the machine is broken. The clerk with a crestfallen countenance summons the manager on the intercom. She glances at the the minute hand of her watch melting slowly like the face of Dali's clock. The bag boy sheepishly whispers to the clerk that he thinks perhaps the manager is on his lunch break currently. "Damn your politeness!" she curses secretly to herself. "What the hell was I thinking? I'm in a hurry to get back and feed my cats. They must be clawing the furniture to shreds by now and crapping all over the house in protest, as hungry cats will do.Why couldn't this jerk be a gentleman and let me go first? What kind of man doesn't have a second card or cash on hand? Why must I shop at a one-register grocery store? Where the hell is the Manager!" She glances behind her at the people queued up wreaking of impatience like a bad cologne. Their Medusa glares render her frozen silent. They won't go back and neither will she. Ensnared, she reluctantly endures. Let it come and let it be.

No mention anywhere that Veela is singing on this track? Such a shame, she has one of the best voices of our generation.

The beauty of music is in the perception. I find it so fascinating the differing thoughts/meanings/interpretations...therein lies the beauty. I find this is a psychedelic journey with friends...together, yet so far apart, each diving inwards towards the mystery of the mind, soul, and being all the while knowing the mind traps that await...let it come and let it be...it's all a mystery...there's no going back...see you on the other side!

One thing's for certain with this beautiful creation...Blackmill has created an experience that leaves the listener transformed from their current space to another...Awe-sum.

    My Interpretation

I will be breaking this song down a little at a time. My interpretation of the song is as follows...

"All she's got is the way he looks Many miles on the other side"

I don't believe this is to be taken literal, as many people have stated. I believe it is describing most failing relationships and personifies that two people who can be in the same room can also be miles apart. Furthermore I think it also emphasizes that when this begins taking place, communication is almost non existent and we only have "the way she/he looks" due to the emotional secrets we as people begin to create when in these circumstances.

"He had overheard her choice And he'd delve off a cliff-side"

Going forward, I believe these two lines describe that one of the individuals in the relationship had overheard the others choice to leave them through a medium (text, phonecall, or maybe even through indirect comments". Based on the following lines I would also interpret these lines as being something he/she doesn't think the other will follow through with because this may be an ongoing thing that has been causing each person turmoil for many days now.

"Sacrifice he just wants to help Holds the world like a baby"

These lines to me are an extension of the previous lines. After he/she overhead the decision/choice the other has made, they decide to make the sacrifice to end their mutual situation with abruptness and in a way that is not emotionally mature. Because of this lack of tact in ending the relationship and no effort being made to try and make things better after overhearing her/his choice, they are perceived to hold the world like a baby (without any consequence).

"Takes his mask off and lulls his head Then she sees him in the screen"

Because he/she has acted this way in their time of need, she/he has shown the other who they really are when the time was of the most importance. Because of this decision he made for them without an attempt to fix things, she/he has finally seen the other through the screen (barriers or blocks).

"They both see the traps No fool, oh no oh They won't go back No fool, oh no oh They've got a mind track No fool, oh no no It's all a mystery Let it come and let it be"

The repeated chorus emphasis that she/he is no longer a fool and they wont go back after seeing what they have seen. That they have their mind on a track that excludes the other and making this mistake in the future, and while it is a mystery to them why the other person would make such a careless choice to delve off a cliff-side in a time of need, because they can't understand it they must...

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
