The best lyricist are the one's who can write songs that have no one particular meaning, but can be interpreted a trillion different ways. Maynard James Keenan, Chino, Adrian Belew (King Crimson), and Jon Anderson (Yes) come to mind.
@Poonard Absolutely. I've seen all but Chino perform live, and I feel so blessed for that. I would also add Serj Tankian and James LaBrie to the ambiguous lyricist list.
