He learns Julian told Victoria he was working to get over his vices because he loved her too much and wanted to get back together. They agree to meet up, and since Victoria had always loved Julian she plans to break it off with his brother Edward. They thought the meeting was a secret, but Edward shows up. He's angry Victoria left him for Julian, and gets into a fight with Julian, then pulls out a gun and shoots him. Victoria starts to scream so he tells her "Open your eyes Victoria."
He then kills her and writes the suicide note they found on Julian then leaves. Now that Nicholas knows the truth he returns home. He starts relaxing and getting comfortable, saying how he learned so much and is happy to be living his own life again, when the Hypnotherapist comes in. The Hypnotherapist is Edward's reincarnation, and does murder Nicholas in order to continue the cycle.
