This song is about Xana (Andy Wood's girlfriend) she was obviously more than a friend. She was his lover, his only one, he loved her madly and she did the same (maybe she still does) She was his muse and she tried to help him, but his addiction was bigger.

I wonder if "Stargazer" could have been another word for a type of groupie, possibly a girl/woman with quite beautiful eyes. I imagine I wrote these lyrics when I was backstage with "Mother Love Bone". May have met several girls/women there, including Xana, then refers to "Ohh, Xana come back again". The meetings with these girls/women may have been combined with drug use, referring then to the stanzas "Stargazer you call the shots and I'll take all - Stargazer won't you kick with me, please"....
