Cover art for Iscariot lyrics by Walk the Moon

This song no doubt contains biblical references, whether the song itself is overtly singing to Judas Iscariot or using Judas as a metaphor for the betrayal of a friend. Does anyone know about the band members' religious involvement? Just curious.

However, from a personal standpoint, the song speaks perfectly to active drug and alcohol addiction. I started listening to this song before entering treatment and then got very into it afterward. Its sombre tone, dedicated friendship, and frustration, to me, sound like the pleas (or hopeless surrender) of a devoted friend to the addicted person who has sabotaged all the help his loved ones have offered.

Of course, I don't think this is the intended meaning, but that's how the song speaks to me.

My Interpretation

@helloleesh I agree.
