This song is about having an affair. It’s about two people with history that can’t and shouldn’t be together, but they can’t help but give in to adultery because they can’t resist each other.

“Two sides twist and then collide…Adulterous conditioned to a spin cycled submission, You know, sometimes it just feels better to give in.”

It seems that these two people had been together in the past and now the girl is in a relationship with someone else.

“Dull heat rises from the sheets. I’m both a patient boy, Well, and a jealous man.”

The reference to sheets is post coital and he is expressing that he is willing to wait for her to leave her boyfriend, but he’s also jealous of her being with him, too.

I know from experience that love triangles are angst ridden, but sometimes, “It’s you I can’t deny.”

Song Meaning

You are truly WARPED and have obviously never been in a love relationship if you believe there's such a thing as a "love triangle." There's never 3 in "love." You're talking lust. And lust is a mighty quick but fleeting emotion. The greatest sex I've ever had was when I was in a long-term committed relationship. We wanted the other to be satisfied; we sought new activities and adventures as a team; we role played; and we always awakened the next morning beside someone who knew us inside and out, and STILL loved us through and through. You can have...

@Blondie326 agreed. I dont hear a love song other than the opening guitar riff. He speaks of two people were in a relationship that was full of cheating but he still wants her so bad. "Twisting heartache into fine" Little pieces that avoid an awful crime. You're safe child you are safe is him trying to convince her to be with him despite their past.

Good thing lyrics are open for interpretation which is something the asshole that responded needs to learn.
