I interpret this song being about addiction. I'm currently battling an addiction to heroin, and I can completely relate to this song. The Beast he comes to you, he's a hunter for a lonely heart in the season of the sun. That verse still makes me tear up everytime, since this addiction, this disease, this devil, this beast, has found it's way to my lonely heart.
I'm sure this song isn't about heroin addiction, but the fact that I can strongly relate to it is enough for me.
Plus, that strung out guitar during the verses? Bending up and down in pitch?
