If this song is meant to be from the perspective of a christian saying the words to a fellow believer, then it is very inspiring and beautiful.
If it supposed to be God speaking then I think Third Day has missed it by a mile. God can't stop the rain? Such an impotent diety is of no comfort to me, and certainly doesn't fit the view that scripture has of God.
@Vagga11 actually it may be exactly what scripture talks about in Matthew 5:45: "...He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Maybe he's referring to the trials and things we may go through in life, Christians are normal people too that will experience heartache and bad times, they're not exempt from life.
