Very Evanescence-ish but really beautiful at the same time. I never heard the original version of this song so my interpretation is for the album version.
I'm not too clear on some points but the overall thing as I see it is about being in between of something. "Caught in the grey" is the line that tells us this. "The grey" is the part when everything is in a mist and you can barely say what is what.
The original version is is pretty similar, except the arrangement is different and it has the extra line "You pull me in and keep me there, and tell me what I need to hear." I personally like the old version better, but this is nice too.
