"standing on the throttle" - when life seems great, everything's going well and you just don't want to stop "standing on the brakes" - when life seems like it's crashing "in the groove til you make a mistake" - that's sure what it feels like when you hit the bumps in life.
Also really love the sound of this one, a little of their classic sound mixed with the newer influences. Really good song for those long trips. Kind of goes back to the allegory of life as a drive/trip.
