Comet Lyrics

Google comes up with plenty of entries, when you search for "hazel comet lyrics"--however, almost none of them actually have lyrics for that song (maybe one or two others, if any)--or if you do find lyrics, they're so-o-o awful...

I gave it a shot. Even if I couldn't figure out everything, I imagined I couldn't possibly do worse.

"And everywhere, comets [f/g]lare"--presumably, that's a key line. Wish I could offer something better than intuition. Or maybe it's just: I've come to hear it that way in my head...so, even if Jody Bleyle were obviously singing "glare," I wouldn't be able to hear it that way.

But the big puzzler--for me--was a different line (sung by the other vocalist, Pete Krebs). It's the one which I decided sounded more-or-less like: "And the comets that we see are the limit to everything"

At first, I wasn't sure of any words except "comet[s]" and "everything."

Then I listened to the passage, oh...at least 50 times: through high—end headphones & a dedicated headphone amp (a combination I've found superb for retrieving detail from difficult passages). Scrawling possible words in a notebook, as I kept repeating it on my CD player.

Before these efforts, I couldn't offer a guess.

But...am I confident this one is correct? Hmmm. uh, hm.

Another possibility I considered: "And the comets are the seed to be living through everything" ...though this seems even less likely.

The few of us who remember Hazel: all are welcome to argue, offer better guesses, etc.

Ah, Pete singing [what I assume are] the names of the chords, underneath the chorus...surprisingly catchy.
