@Lmac1970 I've thought about this a lot. The 'common one' he refers to is the everyone, the the everyman, the divine potential as yet manifest, in other words.. This isn't a put down label but instead evokes to me the potentiality of body turning into soul (Spirit) in the sense of vast potential. It also signifies being chosen, as in, royalty choosing to marry a 'common one'.. Royalty in this case signifying the highest of divine. In short its a song about the union of the lover with the beloved, Christ with his love, About being chosen....

I'm curious about the meaning of "Common one" - it seems to have some meaning outside of the song - any ideas anyone?
