My interpretation of this song is two lovers; one is using the other just because they don't want to be alone.
"Erasing these two photographs, is just a waste of time" -One lover is obsessed with the other, but the other is just using her, so she keeps the photographs, obviously because she is obsessed with him.
"The danger's in the subtlety, between the evening and the night" -The two lovers meet at night, in secret, which is dangerous (they could be discovered).
"Two hearts beating, one beats the other, while the other just looks away" -This is my favorite part. The man only uses her when he needs to, and looks away as she cries and begs him to make her something more to him.
"Two hearts dreaming nightmares together, leaving nothing more, nothing left to say" -The two lovers each have their own fantasies, one lover's fantasy having to do with the other, the other lover's fantasy having to do with someone completely different.
"Replacing every part of me, that's in between the lines" -The girl feels that the other lover is her everything, is a part of her (opheliac) and that he knows her better than she knows herself.
"The problem (?) is just a shade of grey, between the darkness and the night" -When the lovers meet, all they seem to deal with is problems.
