I feel very strongly about what Ben says here. Music has been a big part of my life for a long time. I don't play any instruments but I listen to music about 80% of the time I'm awake - and I leave it playing every night as I go to sleep. I've always been able to find music to help, or exacerbate (for some sort of mind-catharsis) my moods. I think some people find my obsession with music weird, but I also think that it's what attracts some people to me. For me there's nothing quite like finding someone who shares a similar music taste. I don't mean liking a few of the same bands you have on your iPod - I mean like actually knowing what you listen to. Because that's very close to what you are. It's how you feel when you're depressed, or sad, or happy. It's a way of sharing part of yourself, I think.
