Well, those were embarrassing mistakes. Though, to be honest, I actually prefer my versions - starting it on a plane shows how the bad stuff can get to you even when you're trying to escape from it all, the rose/lollipop combo is odd but somehow quite romantic and evocative and "your fate will still feel and taste the same" just sounded really cool to me. Might take it for a song of my own now ...
As for meaning it seems pretty simple - someone looking back on their life, feeling bittersweet about all the stuff that they've left behind.
