Shirley didn't write this. In fact, she didn't write a song until she was about 28, when she joined Garbage. This was a b-side for Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie turned single for Angelfish, a side project of GBMM. This song's music video aired once on MTV's 120 Minutes and was seen by Garbage guitarist Steve Marker, who taped the video and showed it to the other two members of the band, Butch Vig and Duke Erikson... and the rest is history. I love that story. It's so coincidental it's scary.
