Suffocate me with your kisses, baby
Suffocate me with burning love
Suffocate me, put your chains around me
Suffocate me, I'm a thirsty dog
Suffocate me with conversation
Suffocate me with unsaid words
Suffocate me with indecision
Suffocate me with who comes first
I love you, you're so religious
I get a thrill when the curtain calls
I feel like a roman candle
Do your stuff while the empire falls
Suffocate me
I love you(4x)
You know I do
Suffocate me

    General CommentThe lines
"Suffocate me with your kisses, baby
    Suffocate me with burning love"

    remind me of

    "Cover me with kisses, baby
Cover me with love" by Blondie.
But, for me, Suffocate Me is quite more intense.

General CommentShirley didn't write this. In fact, she didn't write a song until she was about 28, when she joined Garbage. This was a b-side for Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie turned single for Angelfish, a side project of GBMM. This song's music video aired once on MTV's 120 Minutes and was seen by Garbage guitarist Steve Marker, who taped the video and showed it to the other two members of the band, Butch Vig and Duke Erikson... and the rest is history. I love that story. It's so coincidental it's scary.
