The ideology of our race has many flaws, it's as if people see and don't care or are not equipped with the right set of eyes to see injustice in their own world as it is all around us from the homeless people, to the social classes and justice system which are just examples of issues anybody see's anywhere. Sooner or later there will be a true revolt from people (I hear this song was written after the LA Riots) and thus society and the systems in place are living on the edge.
There's a bigger picture than the systems that are in place right now which control the masses of people, one where we all work together and nobody is better than the next man and everybody get's what they deserve....no more and no less. It's the systems in place which downgrade our society and further postpone advancement in all areas of life. I really don't see Government, Religion, Schools, and the Justice System as part of the advancement.....Schools I say because of the way they are designed these days.
The thing is people are so used to the way the world works, and it's never going to change as there will always be war and injustice. My hope is that out in the universe there is another life of some sort to experience than the insignificance of earth.
Perhaps he's talking about Armegedon? - meltdown in the sky. People in power will never give the masses an even break - it's safer to go with the flow - but Stephen would rather rebel although I think he knows it's only getting worse but he would rather go naturally. Don't rock the boat

We've tried this many times in the past, it requires a one partied government to accomplish, and leads to a way more inhumane society that the goals origin. It happens to end up this way, because people are not all equal, and its amoral to an individual's psyche to believe there is... I...

"There is something wrong with our eyes." The envy stemming from seeing your neighbor do better than you is growing, because everyone in their youth were handed participation trophies and were told they did just as good as the all-star that scored 3 goals a game. We're all becoming more and more poor sports at the game of life. Your life isn't worse off because your neighbor does better than you, that is a road to hell.
