There's somethin' wrong with the world today
I don't know what it is
Something's wrong with our eyes

We're seein' things in a different way
And God knows it ain't his
It sure ain't no surprise

Livin' on the edge
Livin' on the edge
Livin' on the edge
Livin' on the edge

There's somethin' wrong with the world today
The light bulb's gettin dim
There's meltdown in the sky

If you can judge a wise man
By the color of his skin
Then mister you're a better man than I

Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself at all
Livin' on the edge
You can't stop yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge (everybody, everybody)

Tell me what you think about your situation
Complication, aggravation is getting to you

If chicken little tells you that the sky is fallin'
Even if it wasn't would you still come crawlin'
Back again
I bet you would my friend
Again and again and again and again and again

Tell me what you think about your situation
Complication, aggravation is getting to you

If chicken little tells you that the sky is fallin'
Even if it was would you still come crawlin'
Back again
I bet you would my friend
Again and again and again and again and again

Something right with the world today
And everybody knows it's wrong
But we can tell 'em no or we could let it go
But I'd would rather be a hanging on

Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself at all
Livin' on the edge
You can't stop yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge (everybody, everybody)

Livin' on the edge
Livin' on the edge
Livin' on the edge
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself at all
Livin' on the edge
You can't stop yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge

Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself
You can't help yourself
Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself at all

Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself
You can't help yourself
Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself
You can't help yourself
Livin' on the edge
You can't help yourself from fallin'
Livin' on the edge, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

The ideology of our race has many flaws, it's as if people see and don't care or are not equipped with the right set of eyes to see injustice in their own world as it is all around us from the homeless people, to the social classes and justice system which are just examples of issues anybody see's anywhere. Sooner or later there will be a true revolt from people (I hear this song was written after the LA Riots) and thus society and the systems in place are living on the edge.

There's a bigger picture than the systems that are in place right now which control the masses of people, one where we all work together and nobody is better than the next man and everybody get's what they deserve....no more and no less. It's the systems in place which downgrade our society and further postpone advancement in all areas of life. I really don't see Government, Religion, Schools, and the Justice System as part of the advancement.....Schools I say because of the way they are designed these days.

The thing is people are so used to the way the world works, and it's never going to change as there will always be war and injustice. My hope is that out in the universe there is another life of some sort to experience than the insignificance of earth.

This song is of pure awesomeness. This song is GREATLY overlooked, and if it weren't for Guitar Hero, most people wouldn't even know it exsisted. I think it's about how bad the world has gotten, but it's the human race's fault, "There's something wrong with the world today, and God know's it ain't his."

Along with addressing religion, racism, and how people would rather put the blame on someone else other than themselves, this song says that even though there's something wrong with the world, we'd rather keep hangin' on.

But that is my humble opinion. And another (not so)humble opinion of mine is: THE BAD BOYS FROM BOSTON ARE THE GREATEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THIS COUNTRY SINCE THE MAKING OF SLICED BREAD.

I read somewhere this song was written right after the LA riots. To me the song is saying that there is a lot wrong with the world but we should still keep hanging on. "There's something right with the world today And everybody knows it's wrong Well we could tell them no Or we could let it go But I would rather be a' hanging on."

This song seems to be forgotten about over the years. Not one of their best songs, but I suppose it still deserves honor. Well I guess it's about how crazy the world is but we still keep going about doing our usual.

This is an awesome song!! I LOVE it! I think it's about how bad this world has gotten, 'We're seeing things in a different way, God knows it aint his.' With racism and all this other stuff in this world, it's gotten so ugly with racism among much more.

I think it is about how bad the world is but maybe also a reflection on the things he did when he was on his drug addiction and the things he saw others and himself doing for drugs

"If you can judge a wise man By the color of his skin Then mister, you're a better man than I"

is a direct quote from "You're a Better Man Than I" by the Yardbirds. Both are good songs.

I agree, this song is probly about how bad the world has become. But, maybe "God knows it aint his" is just pushing at people who are prejudice against religion (there's a name for them but I can't remember it now).

"If you can judge a wise man By the color of his skin " is obviously poking at racists.

"You can't help yourself from falling" might be refering to how prejudism and racism and sexism and all that is there, and how most people ARE prejudice and stuff, so it's not hard to become it yourself.

I'm in love with this song, one of my favorite Aerosmith songs. :D

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
