Damn, this song is hard to interpret, everybody's theories all have certain points that would deem them valid, but you gotta take a look at the theories whom can apply to more of the song, cause all lines have to mean something, there not just put there for no reason, i mean they may be filler, but all the lines even filler ones were written to the same point, so lets take a look at this;

The way he mentions pot in this first four lines sounds like hes so sad about it, not just the way the actual song sounds but the way he words it; as in yeah you know im going to sit and light the bong, and of course inevitably the hit will be held in real long. A common side effect of male opioid users is the inability to achieve or maintain “liftoff”. Mary make have mistaken his inability to perform as indication of cheating because she didn’t know about the heroin use.
