My interpretation of this song is a discussion with himself or a friend. "even if the city ignites" is basically saying that everything will be ok even when a new day comes. If you look at a city or town from the hills or some elevation at sunrise, the city looks like its igniting like a candle, brought from slumber. "you on the floor i was attached to the ceiling". The first person is looking at things pessimistically/realistically and not dreaming, i assume "the ceiling" is the sky which would go to say that his head is in the clouds or dreaming. I have to agree a bit with ::Drummer::because it is about chasing your dreams and pushing forward day by day.
