It vaguely reminds me of Communist Russia back when they would exile those who oppose the government to Siberia. The government acted like they were holy, closing down churches-- they were the sole power and faith in them was the only option. From writings the ones who opposed felt as if they were all alone, spread out over the vast country. It seems almost as if the man knows they're wrong and he knows they know about him but he's exiled in Siberia (the cold) and he metaphoricly compares the government with religion and how he wants to destroy it.
Yeah, i know its 99.9% wrong but its how i saw it. Hope you enjoy my interpretation
