I think it's about a man who feels lost and alone, and feels as though he's taken the 'wrong path' in life
But then after the first solo part, he opens his eyes and realizes that he isn't alone ('his many stars above him', his friends and family etc...) and he puts his troubles away and lets his inner child play
So off he goes to live the life he's always wanted to life, Long away from his old dreary one. new beginnings!
