Cover art for Dirty Diana lyrics by Michael Jackson

Even though I've known this song for years, it still surprises me, after I haven't heard it for a while. IMO it’s one of Michael’s most powerful songs. It is emotional, dramatic and has so many levels in it. At times it’s almost like it’s an intercourse. In Michael there is sweet misery and at the same time his soul is tortured. He sings it with such a pain and fragility. There’s even regret detectable in his voice, which leads to desperation by the end. You can actually feel just how sorry he is, that he meet Dirty Diana, because she's ruining his life. But she’s like a drug and he can’t escape, nor quit her. Man, Michael… I know how you feel, dude…

Jesus christ, the song is about a groupie, where did you pick up the detachable in all that. It' a good song melody wise, lyrics it's not this powerful phoenix like thing you claim it to be.

So.....did Michael give in to the Diana at the end? I think he does....

Your thoughts?
