I've read over it many times and what i think it means is that someone is keeping a secret to protect another person and he is tired of living the lie but he swore he would do it and he's wishing the person he's keeping the secret from will save him, will fess up i guess.
Also, this song was on an episode of the show 'Numb3rs' which was conveys a similiar message.

The more I listen to, and read the lyrics the more I think it is about a relationship coming to an end. The line "it's all over your eyes, there is nothing you can do" is similar to the eyes are the portal to the soul, and he sees the love for him gone in the others eyes. And the way he is speaking of his own feelings, that he is tired of living a lie, is that he feels that same love loss.
