He's a great poet and an incredible composer, but his voice, more than any other, as nasal or "rhaspy" as it is, can create such emotion.
Outside of maybe Pavarotti's version of Nessun Dorma, Dylan owns emotional music.
And this song is his absolute BEST when it comes to that. Muslim, Christian, Jew, Agnostic, Atheist, Satanist, Potter...
It doesn't matter who you are and whether you agree with the spiritual message of the song (I do, though) the emotion in it can't be denied.
