it's talking about life. he has a somewhat existentialist view.
He is trying to find his purpose in life.
"I MUST believe there's more above us and below"
like heaven and hell...
and then
"It keeps me here when all I wanna do is disappear".
he MUST believe it, for if he doesn't... he would disappear. but then he adds
"... there's nothing left to keep me here".
he will leave this life, because his has not found a reason to live.
and... i think the vicous child is humankind itself, like the big bad monster, "nature never wanted us" ?? ... thats my opinion
