It's a rare occasion when a cover version is better than the original. In my opinion this version is far superior to the Snow Patrol one, I do like the Snow Patrol one, I just personally think Leona's voice brings so much more depth to the song & gives it a very haunting sound.

I've read alot of reviews of the song saying that its mostly about drug references & while yes I can see a few in there, I personally think the song is more about a relationship the writers had in the past, it hasnt worked out, he still mourns the relationship & lives in hope that one day it might come all back together (Sounds very familiar unfortunatly)

While its sad, its still surprisingly uplifting. Makes me think about my last relationship. It wasnt the right time for us then, it may work out at a later time but none of us know what the future bring. A relationship ending is like a death almost. You need to grieve for it, reminice over the good times, grieve for the times you had planned that might not happen anymore.

But what will be will be, whats for you wont go by, I think thats what the meaning to this song is. bvut thats my opinion.
