This is such a beautiful cover of Snow Patrols 'Run'.I personally prefer Leona's version.Leona sings it as if her life depends on it.Her performance of this song on X-Factor was breathtaking. An absolutely stunning cover.x Leona and Live Lounge should be very very proud of such a great cover and ofcourse Leona as a person.As she is so down to earth...x I love Leona and i adore this song..x Well Done Leona....x

i think this song has many diffrent meanings although good cover leona needed to work on her diction as when she said "in all i've done" i thought she said "in a lifetime" i also belive that the song could be about unrequited love.how the person if ready to say how they feel but is too scared or knows the person does not share the same feeling.and creates a fantasy in their imagnation where they are lovers. i also belive it can be about leaving a person or someone leaving.

It's a rare occasion when a cover version is better than the original. In my opinion this version is far superior to the Snow Patrol one, I do like the Snow Patrol one, I just personally think Leona's voice brings so much more depth to the song & gives it a very haunting sound.

I've read alot of reviews of the song saying that its mostly about drug references & while yes I can see a few in there, I personally think the song is more about a relationship the writers had in the past, it hasnt worked out, he still mourns the relationship & lives in hope that one day it might come all back together (Sounds very familiar unfortunatly)

While its sad, its still surprisingly uplifting. Makes me think about my last relationship. It wasnt the right time for us then, it may work out at a later time but none of us know what the future bring. A relationship ending is like a death almost. You need to grieve for it, reminice over the good times, grieve for the times you had planned that might not happen anymore.

But what will be will be, whats for you wont go by, I think thats what the meaning to this song is. bvut thats my opinion.

With a voce that puts Mariah, Whitney, and Beyoncé to shame, this song sounded beyond amazing on X-Factor. Hell it was even a thousand times better than the Live Lounge recording! Snow Patrol must be in tears (of honor) that such a goddess would even cover their bland song.

This will be the 2008 Christmas number one, and will top the charts for months! Hell, this song is going to be beyond huge!

Leona is the voice of the millenium, and everyone will be enslaved to her voice! (save for Amy, but she's a different genre mind you! And she'll equally rule alongside Leona!)

This song really hit me hard! It is explaining how I feel lately. I think the song is about two people either breaking up or one person leaving because they have no choice, like the lyrics say. She says "long goodbyes" referring to be time apart she is dreading. She wants him to "light up light up" as if he has a choice, but he doesn't and the goodbye is inevitable. She says she understands why he can't raise his voice, meaning she knows he has to leave, but isn't holding it against him, she understands. To think she isn't goingto see his eyes for awhile makes it difficult for her. She says "even if you can't hear my voice, I'll be right beside you dear." In other words, even though she won't be with him, he can pretend she's still there, right beside him. She also says she can hardly speak, which is so true when one is saying a long goodbye. They get so caught up in the moment knowing it's one of the last times they'll be together for awhile that they can't even make a sound or say whats on their mind because it's so overwhelming. Well that's what I feel when I hear this, it could be totally wrong but that's how I see it. Beautifully done though by leona lewis, even when she's just singing "ooooh" you still feel like she means it.

This song has alot of meaning to me because it is about what i have been going through recently. This song is about somone having to move away because they don't have a choice. She is saying that even when the person is gone she will always be with them. " I'll be right beside you dear". It is also about the person not wanting to move away but they have to. " Light up, light up as if you have a choice". This song has so much emotion and meaning to it. Leona has put so much passion into it. This is my favourite song of hers.

I've never really given Leona Lewis a second thought, but I happened to watch Xfactor on Saturday, and I never watch it, and she was a guest on there, and I honestly thought oh great here we go some boring shitty song and she put me in my place and sung this song! I love the Snow Patrols version, and Leona sings it so beautiful, It actually sent shivers down my spine, and I am questioning if it's better than the original. Haunting, a big well done to Leona, she has my respect now.

I know some snow patrol fans will hate it, but I think she should be respected for her voice in this song and not slated as she's not cool enough to sing it.

Not many cover versions are as good as, or better than the original song, but Leona's version of the Snow Patrol classic is right up there with the very best. I enjoy both versions equally, and never tire of hearing either.

this is an astonishingly amazing cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run'. It's b-e-a-utiful. So soft yet dramatic. Brought me to tears.
