i think it could be taken either way. there is no way of telling if the composer intended it to merely be about a lonely girl (i assume gender from the vocals) losing sleep because she wants "the" someone close, or if its a cleverly subtle beating around of the bush to refer to sexual intercourse. even if the later is the meaning, its not the point, it would merely be reasonable to occur with two people who feel like this, to the point of losing sleep in each others absence. i almost think the ambiguous lyrics are intentional, leaving it open for us to decide, and skipping to the point of simple human contact. of not being alone, metaphor or not.

@chickenfarmer095 I think you're the most on target of anyone so far. Most of these siren songs are written like the song equivalent to a lap dance: cooing, less than subtle sexual songs, but Rhys Fulber goes deeper. This song is about two people who are awake when most of us are asleep (kindred spirits of candlelight). The woman begging her friend to come over because she feels safe with him (or her!) When the friend is there, her brain can shut off so she can actually sleep.
