I think it's two people in a relationship.
The girl gets bored with the guy, but he still wants to be her friend, even though she doesn't really care for him anymore.
The guy is talking to himself, trying to figure out where it all went wrong, since she lost the interest for him.
The guy might have done/said something stupid to her in the past, and now he regrets it, and wants to take it back. But he can't.
