Breathing in the same sequence
While trying to make sense of your situation
What we got ourselves in, two more weeks of one way conversation
She says she's losing interest
I swear that we are best friends till the end

This could be the plans for revenge
But these words lead to dead ends

So close your eyes and kiss me like it's our last time
These lips need medication, these days are dripping poison girl
Days to turn to nights I wish on the stars in the sky
Be careful of the brightest, beauty is on the inside

I wish I could but I know I can't take it back, it's serious
Just like heart-attacks
My personality, avoid the scenery, I hate playing games with the industry
That fuels these dreams, and turns them down
When my heart breaks it makes a sound

This could be the plans for revenge
But these words lead to dead ends

So close your eyes and kiss me like it's our last time
These lips need medication, these days are dripping poison girl
Days to turn to nights I wish on the stars in the sky
Be careful of the brightest, beauty is on the inside

So close your eyes and kiss me like it's our last time
These lips need medication, these days are dripping poison girl
Days to turn to nights I wish on the stars in the sky
Beauty is on the inside

(Beauty's on the inside)

This is one of my faves off of the new album. I think the meaning is kind of obvious: two people in a relationship, one gets bored with it, the other is pretty much talking to himself because she's not paying attention.

I've been addicted to this song since I got the CD a few years back and after Casey died I listened to it non-stop. The obvious meanings have been put down here already, but it has a really close meaning for me...mostly because I had a really close friendship and kind of fell in love...the other person kind of played around with my heart and then moved on with other people, acting like we had always been only friends and nothing ever happened..

    Yeah, I'm gonna cry now.

I think it's two people in a relationship. The girl gets bored with the guy, but he still wants to be her friend, even though she doesn't really care for him anymore. The guy is talking to himself, trying to figure out where it all went wrong, since she lost the interest for him.

The guy might have done/said something stupid to her in the past, and now he regrets it, and wants to take it back. But he can't.

"This could be the plans for revenge But these words lead to dead ends"

The girl wants revenge for what he once did to her.

That's just my take on the song.

i always thought it was these lyrics: "i wish i could but i know i cant take it back its serious, just like heart attacks our personality, avoid the scenery i hate playing games with the industry that builds these dreams and tears them down when my heart breaks, it makes a sounds"

meaning he hates when you're dating someone and everything is going great they build up so much and then something happens, you break up and it all comes crashing down

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
