There's a huge huge huge difference between Christianity and the institution of Christianity. I believe in Jesus and hold him in my heart, but I am disgusted by a lot of the things Christians do in the name of him. I do not find church important right now because I feel like I experience God in different ways. I think the church sometimes does things that are very business oriented, I think many times the church hates where they should love, I think many times the church relies on preying where they could be doing more with their own bodies.
I think many times the church abuses its power. And that is the institution doing what an institution does, not Christianity doing Gods work. And that's probably part of where SYG is coming from.

Sometimes religion begins acting as an institution of god, rather than a congregation of people worshiping god. institutions require things to run, and therefore at least a small degree of corruption can easily arise.
