wow. i am shocked that there are so few posts about this song. i think this song speaks true to a lot of people. i'm kind of in a situation right now where i feel like i shouldn't like this person, but i still do. there's a huge age difference between us and it's kind of like a forbidden love thing. i'm not sure if he feels the same, but i think i relate to the last verse the most, where it says:
"i'm not allowed to adore you
the way you know i really want, but i do
even though it's been a nightmare
to pretend that it's all alright
it's not the easiest thing to avoid,

so simply put, but so well said. that's EXACTLY how i feel about the guy i'm involved with.
