You cast your spell over me
Don't know where to turn to anymore
I see your face
Every morning when I wake up
Every night when I go to bed
You're here with me
Somehow, don't know how
I can feel you right now
So close, so real

Show me
Show me your colours
Show me
Don't break this spell I'm in
Please don't break my heart
Show me
Show me your colours, baby
Tell me who you really are

I know you want what I want
Far away, but still within our reach
Do you dare?
Are you brave enough to show me
What your heart really wants to
I say your name to myself out loud
Wanna have you all around
Like a cover for the cold on the outside
Making love in the candlelight

Show me
Show me your colours
Show me
Don't break this spell I'm in
Please don't break my heart
Show me
Show me your colours, baby
Tell me who you really are

Baby
Don't tell me I mean nothing
After all you did
Baby, don't you tell me
Tell me I mean nothing
Tell me I mean nothing to you
Please show me now

Show me
Show me your colours
Show me
Don't break this spell I'm in
Please don't break my heart
Show me
Show me your colours, baby
Tell me who you really are

Show me
Show me your colours
Show me
Don't break this spell I'm in
Please don't break my heart
Show me
Show me your colours, baby
Tell me who you really are

I'm not allowed to adore you
The way you know I really want
But I do
Even though it's been a nightmare
To pretend that it's all, alright
It's not the easiest thing to avoid
Damage is already done
I'm in love
With you

I like this song, I would still be listening to it if I hadn't scratched up the cd so bad. I mean I was playing it one day and all of a sudden it stopped and the cd had a crack in it. I use to lay this song on my cd player to death. I'm a Leo, so it just comes naturaly for me to like songs like this I guess. I mean, I never liked showing feelings, but I listen to a lot of love songs. You cast your spell over me Don't know where to turn to anymore I see your face Every morning when I wake up Every night when I go to bed You're here with me somehow Don't know how I can feel you right now So close So real

    That's my favorite part.

wow. i am shocked that there are so few posts about this song. i think this song speaks true to a lot of people. i'm kind of in a situation right now where i feel like i shouldn't like this person, but i still do. there's a huge age difference between us and it's kind of like a forbidden love thing. i'm not sure if he feels the same, but i think i relate to the last verse the most, where it says:

"i'm not allowed to adore you the way you know i really want, but i do even though it's been a nightmare to pretend that it's all alright it's not the easiest thing to avoid, damage is already done; i'm in love...with...you"

so simply put, but so well said. that's EXACTLY how i feel about the guy i'm involved with.

    long live S Club!!!!

    My Interpretation

I love this song. I think it describes perfectly what I am going through right now. You fall in love with people, but they have difficulties to open up to you, and the more they are hiding from themselves (keeping secrets, lying, etc), the distance between you and those people increases. Little by little, you are losing them. Problem is, you've already fallen for them, and you just want them to open up to you but they won't and choose to leave you instead. It is difficult to accept the fact they broke your heart by avoiding the situation and pretend you never existed "Don't tell me I mean nothing". It's like falling in love with a stranger. You are trying to forget, but it is hard.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
