I think this is about a girl in a relationship whose partner doesn't allow her to have her own opinion, or won't listen to her point of view. She 'cracks it' ("suddenly I can't stay in this room...i have nothing left to say") and reluctantly walks out (either literally or on the relationship all together) in the hope that her partner will come running after her and say sorry. Of course, this doesn't happen, and she goes crawling back because, as much as she knows she is not being heard, she loves them too much to really leave them. Her partner knows that she will always come running back: they have the power in the relationship. I really feel her angst- her partner comes across as though they don't appreciate her, respect her or care as much as they should! When she sings "in case you chase me", it is almost a plea- she knows they won't!
