I think this means that the guy in question is someone she feels a connection with, someone she feels comfortable around.

Again, she's describing this guy. This line is pretty simple, she's saying that this guy brings out the very best of her.

This line I can definitely relate to. She wants to get some type of emotion out of this guy she loves, even anger, so she starts a fight.

Unfortunately, I think this guy responds to her anger in a way that he doesn't care what she thinks of him. So he says some rash things, takes part in the fight.

I think this line means that this guy does something wayyy rash and something she wasn't expecting, and she finally sees the light. She finally sees that he doesn't really care about her and he isn't as perfect as she thought he was.
"Just walk away, ain't no use defending words that you will never say"
The words that he will never say are probably words of compliment, like "you're beautiful" and "I love you." Because he never said those words, he doesn't have to stay and say things like "Well I really DID mean it...." so he just walks away.
"And now that I'm sitting here thinking it through"
Pretty much a self-explanatory line. She thinks it through and decides....
"I've never been anywhere cold as you"
Cold as in evil, mean, insulting, stuff like that. She uses it as a metaphor. She's saying that he's the meanest person, place, or thing she has come across.

Basically, I think this means that he puts up walls between him and her because he doesn't want her, but she loves him so much that she tries to get rid of them.
