Basically she is in love with someone whom she most defiantly has a past with; that may or may not have halted negatively. It seems that she had her dead bolt locked in fear of getting hurt or what ever the case must be again but she uses these lyrics and this song to tell the person, that she wouldn’t like anything more then to try it again. So she is basically ready to stop using her dead lock because it is safe and she is ready to open up to this person again.
