This song is definetly about acceptance of death... I will go a step farther and say contemplation of suicide. I find it interesting to see the progression of Toumas' thoughts and mindset throughout the Nightwish albums...it is so obvious that this song leads straight into Century Child's Ocean Soul song (actually that whole album) which was all about frustration with life and desire to have it over with or find something to make it worthwhile.
He says "I saved my soul..by thinking this song is a lie" in other words, I didn't commit suicide by convincing myself it really wouldn't be as great as I imagine.
