Even though he wants to move on and be with this girl, he's hurting from what he's been through and he's asking for a bit of time to get his head sorted out.
I think this is so refreshing. Too many people (including me) jump from relationship to relationship, scared of missing chances if they wait too long. I could have done with singing this song when my last relationship broke up to the guy I'm seeing right now!
